Why does Christ’s message of love sometimes meet with hatred? Beginning with a question raised by a hospice patient, Father Kevin reflects on today’s Gospel: Christ’s coming does not create the hatred in human hearts, but brings it to the surface. To follow him is to love without distinction, stand beside the vulnerable, and remain a light even when that love encounters hostility. The same light that draws hatred may help guide someone home to comfort, safety, and love. Readings and homily for the Feast of Saints Simon and Jude, October 28, 2026. Epistle: Ephesians 4:7–13 Gospel: John 15:17–25
